Qidan Chen _ Self-Organized Formation: Urban Environment Centre & Swimming Pools

 

To help local government respond to negative news and host 2016 Rio Olympic Game successfully, the proposal of provides a place for the public to be informed about the issues affecting environment in Rio and Brazil, such as deforestation and seawater pollution. Meanwhile, it creates a leisure space for visitors swimming

and relaxing.  Inspired by previous experiments into ‘Self-organized Formations’, using wax and threads to form delicate, emergent forms. This self-organized mechanism was merged into the buildings structure, which forms boundless spatial quality.
